Lancaster and Morecambe College has been working in partnership with Morecambe JobCentre Plus and the new Travelodge in Morecambe to deliver a bespoke course for jobseekers interested in working in the hotel.
When staff members at Morecambe Learning Centre saw the new Travelodge Hotel going up right across the road from the centre they were inspired by the idea that this would be creating new jobs in the area. Working with Jobcentre Plus they took the initiative and created a bespoke course: Pathway to Working with Travelodge. Aimed at people who are currently unemployed or have recently been made redundant, this was a great initiative to start solving some of the unemployment issues in the area.
